Travelview today announced the first results from the company's newest offering, the first HDVideo Channel broadcast bi-weekly by E-mail to every Travel Agent and Group Travel Planner in the USA and Canada. According to President Darrell Turner, "We realize there are only around 152,000 travel professionals in North America that influence over 50% of all vacation purchase decisions. With the current economy it's difficult for agents to take time away from their businesses to travel and review destinations and it's difficult for many destinations to budget the time and funds to conduct sufficient Travel Agent events, sales blitzes, and fam trips. Given the explosive growth in online video, we thought there had to be a better way to reach agents using online video." Borrowing from the company's popular destination and property Video/DVD cop-op programs, Travelview launched the channel with a 12-part broadcast for the Turks and Caicos Islands that featured a series of short videos about the Islands complimented by videos of participating properties. Half way through the campaign, more than 88,000 unique Agents have accessed the Channel, watched over 30,000 videos, and clicked through to destination and resort websites thousands of times for more information. Response rates are two to five times higher than for other broadcasters of non-video E-mails to the same list. Travel Agents have also forwarded the broadcasts to tens of thousands of consumers, and participating resorts are reporting increased bookings. The company intends to continue to add destinations to the Channel until they are broadcasting a new destination every day of the week. Plans to broadcast directly to consumers are also underway.
